	Abbey House, once used by the Monks of Easby Abbey, an outstanding and unique property dating back to the 14th century is situated on the banks of the River Swale, within the scheduled monument area incorporating Easby Abbey, a hundred yards away. Abbey House, which also features in a painting by Turner, has been refurbished to a very high standard with care being taken to ensure the original features and character have been maintained. The bedrooms have oak floor boards throughout and one of the bedrooms has a collar beam roof construction, one of only six remaining properties within England. The accommodation consists of sitting room with cloakroom off it, three en-suite bedrooms and fully equipped kitchen, together with extensive garden with several paved areas for sitting out, including a 15 metre x 6 metre paved area in the adjacent monastic barn (no roof) where young children can play in safety away from the river.
