About Us
Disability Action in Richmondshire (DAIR) is your local disabled access group.
DAIR began when a number of disabled people got together to raise awareness of disability issues in the area especially in relation to access to services. DAIR became a registered charity in 2002. Baroness Harris of Richmond and Rt. Hon William Hague MP are patrons.
In 2004 the trustees successfully gained funding from the National Lottery Community Fund and Lloyds TSB for a development worker and since April 2004 Linda Curran has been employed for 15 hours per week. This has enabled DAIR to increase the profile of disabled people in Richmondshire.
Trustees
DAIR Trustees are unpaid and give an enormous amount of time to promoting better access for disabled people. They travel far and wide, one trustee was invited by Yorkshire Bank to Belfast to help to improve better access to cash machines after DAIR contacted the bank to request improvements.
